Gardens and Glass

On our 2nd day of summer, we went to "The Beautiful Gardens" (The Atlanta Botanical Gardens). We always get good use of a membership here and at Fernbank. Chihuly currently has an exhibit at the gardens, and I think it is exquisite. His glass forms and the garden compliment each other beautifully.
This was one of Vera's favorites (but almost all of them were).
There were activities set up for the kids to enjoy; we came home with 4 bean maracas.
Color! I admired these flame like poles while the kids played on a felt board and dug in a dirt box (like a sand box but it was dirt with carrots and radishes hiding in it).
Vera's felt art.
This crazy neon installation was one of William's favorites. In his words "it is an unearthly light," which is what makes it amazing.
Vera matched the orchids.
Any time we turned the corner to find another glass masterpiece we would gasp at its beauty.
This is William and Silas' favorite sculpture.
Lastley, here is one of my favorites. I want to post ALL our pictures of the sculptures! But I won't spoil the surprise any more in case you are able to go see the gardens for yourself.
