Happy birthday to our Silas, or Mowgli as we like to call him.
Silas scales walls and swings from trees. He marches to his own beat.
Silas asked for a skateboard for his birthday and has been enjoying trying it out! Silas has interests all his own (I would not have thought of a skateboard!)... we introduce him to soccer, he tells us he wants to do basketball. I love that he knows what he wants to do.
Silas the explorer.
At times he is a nut. At times he is calm and sweet. At times he is loud and stubborn. From what I can tell he is a lot like his Daddy was as a kid. Impulsive. Fun. And a bit wild.
Silas is doing great work in 1st grade home school. He decided to do extra math work and is almost in 2nd grade math!
Silas has a some beautiful drawing skills developing. This is a portrait he drew of me. He is good at studying what's in front of him.
This is a tactile kid. He constructs and builds wherever we go.
On Silas's actual birthday we were at a cabin with 3 of Justin's college friends. I forgot candles for singing him Happy Birthday, so we held up the cabin's large lighter collection for him to blow out. :)
He is looking forward to celebrating with family and friends next weekend at our house (where we can use real candles)... we will be moving in a few months so he wanted to have one last party at Winter Farm.
On the way home from the cabin we stopped for lunch and bowling at Punch Bowl Social, and then enjoyed some ice creams cones.
Happy Birthday, Silas!
