Our family has been so fortunate to have Lea be a part of it this past year. When we signed on to host an exchange student, we never dreamed she would be so incredibly easy going. Think of what most people have to say about teenagers... Lea is the opposite. A mature, collected, studious, and caring girl, Lea has been a joy. And now with less than two weeks of school left ...well, it will be really hard to say goodbye mid July. I had the pleasure of taking Lea to the award ceremony at her high school tonight.
I'm proud to say this gal won the 11th grade English Literature award! Way to go, Lea! She beat out the natives and has truly mastered the English language.
She also received recognition for making the honor roll. What a bright girl.
We also went to an award ceremony this past Saturday for my husband, Justin, who just graduated from Emory with his MBA. He wouldn't want me to brag too much about him here, but I'll do just a little :).
Justin received the Marketing and Analytics award, which is chosen by the professors, as well as the Integrity award chosen by his peers. In a separate "humorous" award category he was given the "Over Achiever" award since he did well in school while gaining two sons and being super Dad (they exaggerated a bit and said he had 15 kids and had delivered 4 of them along the side of the road across from the Quick Trip, ha!). I'm proud of my over achieving zealous husband (and glad that now he can focus some of that zeal towards putting stairs back on our front porch!).
I'm VERY excited about Justin being done with school, and I'm proud of him for his accomplishments. And we are both proud of Lea; we're so thankful we've been able to be her parents during her year in the USA. Yay!
I'm so exited for you all that Justin has graduated!!! congrats!
