• I wore my shirt backwards yesterday until I finally noticed at 5:00pm. It has a swoop neck and pocket in the front (or in my case yesterday, the back). And I think no one noticed because I was holding an adorable 3 month old all day. Or they were trying to be kind by not calling me out in public.
• I explained at least three times this month why it isn't acceptable to eat someone's unknown skittles off the ground or to drink the last sip of coke (I hope) out of a discarded crushed can on the sidewalk.
• I look forward to a short drive to the playground or store so I can have a 5 minute phone conversation with a friend with minimal interruptions.
• I get nearly constant entertainment from my 2 1/2 year old who is more often a knight, transformer, beaver, or car than he is a boy.
• I clean up pee, poop, spit up, spills, and toys daily, and I sometimes daydream about when my children will be old enough to do all these things themselves ... Or better yet when I get to watch them do these things for their children.
• I'm considering telling the children that the ants all over our counters are pets and to please start giving them names.
• I've lost the ability to think straight, and if all children are napping and/or occupied I feel overwhelmed with the countless opportunities this precious time presents. I clean a thing or two, see that my efforts are useless because the to-do list is a mile long and never ending, and so I come write a random blog post instead.
• My arms are always filled with lots of love.
Well that was fun, and whether you're a parent to 1 or 8 kids or an aunt, uncle, or a grandparent, I bet you can relate.
I also enjoy your short car rides that = phoning a friend. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd this: "and if all children are napping and/or occupied I feel overwhelmed with the countless opportunities this precious time presents. I clean a thing or two, see that my efforts are useless because the to-do list is a mile long and never ending" YES x 100!!!!
