Our family has been enjoying our "farm" (aka yard and animals). We've had tons of fun on the trampoline, climbing trees, harvesting and planting... So here is a bit of all of that:
Blueberries are here! The children are grazing. Patrick eats as many green ones as blue, but he thinks it is amazing to grab his own food off these bushes.
The chickens are cooped... Or else they'll strip our blueberry bushes clean. But Patrick shared a few through the wire. We currently have 5 hens: Little Blackie, Silvia, Symphony, Easter Chicken, and Salt n' Pepper (who is the oldest and only one from our original batch). They are laying well, but with 5 gals we only get enough eggs for our family (with an occasional dozen purchased from the store).
Okra is coming up (and about ready to be thinned). Weeds are also coming up, so I'm trying to do battle!
Silas wanted to make something too, so this is his "robot."
William has been interested in medicinal herbs, so he has his own herb garden growing. He correctly identified a citronella plant at the botanical gardens and was pleased with his growing plant knowledge.
Well, that's the current snapshot of Winter Farm!
