Patrick turns 2!

Patrick is 2 years old!
On April Fools day, our little Trick turned 2.
Our day started with a THUD as our eldest, William, slid down his bunk bed slide at 5:20 AM to start setting up pranks.  Shortly after 6:00 AM he, Vera, and Silas woke up the birthday boy by sticking bows in his hair and putting lip-gloss on his cheeks while he slept.  Patrick seemed to enjoy being woken up by his siblings... even though it wasn't Mommy and Daddy's favorite idea.
William managed to trick Daddy with the kitchen sprayer handle being taped down, but luckily I saw the plastic wrap over the toilet before I used it.  Per Patrick's request, later in the day we visited his MaMai (Justin's mom) at her house and went to Chick-fil-A for dinner after a movie.
Patrick is one of the most rough-and-tumble kids I've ever seen.  He is a passionate guy.  When he is upset, he is UPSET; like a small hurricane of explosive feelings.  When he is happy the whole room lights up with his joy.  When he is sorry you get hugs and sweet apologies.  And he always says "Tank you" when you help him.
Most people are surprised to learn that Patrick is just now turning 2, because he runs with the big kids.  If there is a group of rowdy boys wrestling, Patrick doesn't hesitate to join the scrapple.  He thinks it is hilarious to mimic his siblings, and he doesn't mind putting on a show to make us all laugh.  All in all, I think he has the energy and spunk of his Daddy!
(This photo of Alan, Justin, and Patrick was taken last September)
I never dreamed my 3rd born, Silas, could be matched in activity level and gusto... I was wrong.
Patrick is our crazy nut we love dearly... but maybe it would be ok if our 5th child is a bit calmer? ;)

We ended the day with cake.
Patrick asked to re-light the candles and blow them out at least 12 times!
Patrick asked for a trampoline cake with a cat since he loves jumping!
This wasn't my most masterful cake, but it sufficed (there was limited icing time, plus I didn't think Patrick would be a tough critic).  The LEGO people are Patrick and his siblings jumping on top of the trampoline, and the cat is drawn on the right.
