The day after Silas' 4th birthday party he asked, "When is it my birthday again!?" And nearly every single day since then he has asked, "Is it my birthday yet?"
Well, son, it is finally your birthday!
5 years old!
I've taken his picture each year with this cup... since he was born in the car across the street from the Quick Trip.
Silas wanted a Star Wars party this year (he knows that his big bro thinks highly of Star Wars).
We had R2D2 and C3PO cakes, a Darth Vader pinata, storm trooper string cheese, and grape light saber skewers!
(Thanks, Pinterest, for the cake and food ideas.)
Pool noodles turned into light-sabers were a huge hit! Silas was thrilled that some of his cousins could join us along with one family of close friends.
Silas was so excited (and defensive of his right to blow out his own candles), that he kept blowing the candles out before we could get through "Happy Birthday to You." After a couple of times re-lighting them (and moving little brother Patrick to the other side of the room where he was no longer a threat), we finally made it through.
BIG hugs for Great Grandma for the awesome Star Wars reader books and sheets.
We love this spunky, stubborn, creative, independent, brave boy of ours!
Silas spends hours each day putting together LEGOs. He also enjoys setting up forts throughout our yard and hiking around with big sticks. He has a superb vocabulary, though sometimes he prefers a good yell instead of a well-thought-out sentence to let you know how he feels about little brother getting into his legos. Silas is tough. He makes us laugh.
