2013's First Planting Day!
Sunshine and warmer weather are welcomed with open arms!
Hello dirt!
Hello worms!
Hello grass!
We've missed you.
The kids helped me pick out seeds for our garden this year. We planted most of the cooler weather crops today. Rather than the traditional lines, I'm trying out a spiral in the garden this year...I hope it turns out nicely!
Per my oldest son's request, we bought colorful carrot seeds. I've never had much luck with carrots, but hopefully we'll get a purple, yellow, or white carrot for fun. Note: carrot seeds are very tiny and when you try to hand them to a child of 4 or younger they might just slip away before their little hands can make it to their designated area. However, sweet peas are perfect things for little hands to plant. Above, William and Vera finish planting a row of sweat peas to climb our growing fort.
Silas, now 5 1/2 months old, enjoyed his first time sitting in grass. He loved pulling at the blades and trying to eat them too.
Seeds! Yay!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing what comes up for you this year! Also, Silas looks SO big! He is really starting to look like his older bro and sis too.
