Patrick's 6th Birthday!

Patrick turns 6! And he has been counting down the days till his birthday for the past two months (at least).

Patrick loves to cook and make unique recipes in the kitchen. He'll slice up some peaches and add sugar, yogurt, more sugar, marshmallows, and syrup, and generously share his sweet creation with the family.

Patrick worked diligently on his Optimus Prime costume for Halloween. Because of Covid, we decided to do a candy hunt in our yard, but these kids were all troopers with our changes of plans this past year.

Justin has been in charge of putting "the two younger ones" to bed each night while I've been enjoying reading chapter books with the olders. Patrick and Daniel love their time with their Daddy and listening to Star Wars and Minecraft books.

Gingerbread houses... sorta like cooking with lots of sugar, so Patrick is game!

Patrick enjoys showing little brother, Daniel, the ropes. He is such a kind big brother, and these two are good buds.

Patrick is full of laughs and stories. He is loud, and his presence is known. He feasts on the attention of his siblings and parents. He will quite likely love you the second he meets you; he will find a way to warm your heart as he readily opens his.

Patrick's passionate personality also means exasperated frustration and anger at times. "MY LEGO GOT BROKEN AND THE WORLD HAS ENDED!!!" But he is quick to forgive and reconcile.

This year is another low-key celebration, picking up some birthday songs and treats with small visits with family and friends over the weeks. Vera made him a traditional Mexican star pinata. We have some of his favorite foods and a chocolate cake...and lots of love for this guy. Happiest of birthdays to this sweet, loving boy.
